The hardware is the easy part; the reason you are calling an auction house instead of a recycler is that you want the residual value AND a defensible data trail. What the engagement covers
- Drive handling to your instruction: wipe to NIST 800-88 purge, remove and shred, or remove and return
- Certificate of sanitisation with a serial-level manifest, and the certificate number published on the lot
- Asset tag removal and photographic evidence of removal
- Grading to a published cosmetic scale that is explicitly not a functional grade
- Single-model palletisation where volume allows, because one model per pallet sells for more than a mixed one

- No operating system licences transfer, and neither do vendor support contracts. We say so on every lot
- Activation-locked mobile devices are sold as parts donors and labelled as such in the lot title
